About Dr. Lara
After spending nine years in the electronic medical record software industry, Larissa decided it was time for a career change to something more meaningful. A life-long interest in natural remedies and herbal medicine led her to enroll in Chinese herbalism classes, and then acupuncture school. She graduated from East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Florida with a Masters in Oriental Medicine, and a B.S. in Professional Health Sciences. Prior to that, she attended the University of South Florida and obtained a B.A. in Information Systems Management. Larissa is originally from Denver, Colorado and enjoys spending time with her family, learning about other cultures, traveling, hiking, martial arts, and dance.
My attraction to natural medicine has been lifelong and beginning in the 3rd grade, I developed a strong appreciation for Japanese & Asian cultures. These two interests of mine combined when I enrolled in acupuncture school at East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Florida. Now, every day I get to help people to get out of pain, cut their dependencies, adopt better lifestyle habits and live an optimal life…and I absolutely love it!
